Zaraki Yumiko stood, silhouetted by the moon's light, on a building somewhere in Karakura town. The horrendous screech of a hollow grew ever nearer, but the girl made no move to draw her lethal blade. A nearby building went down in a explosion of rubble and dust as the foolish hollow searched for Yumiko in a rage.
It was a hideous creature; a mix of a lizard and a spider. Its mouth was open, prepared to emit another wail, when it spotted the young shinigami.
That's right. Come to Yumiko.
The creature lurched forward, swiping at Yumiko with its clawed hands.
Not good enough, buddy.
With a swift downward slash, Yumiko sliced cleanly through the twisted white mask, obliterating the hollow. She landed lightly on her feet, and was about to sheath Sora-hime, when another roar split the night.
Another one? How did I not sense it until now?
A larger hollow materialized in front of the Zaraki. It was similar in appearance to the grand fisher, but weaker, she noted. Suddenly, a disturbance in the air made her jump swiftly back seconds before the hollow's hand passed through the area she had just vacated.
What the...I guess it's faster than I anticipated...
In seconds, the creature's arm was lopped off, followed quickly by a spurt of black blood. The Hollow's roar made Yumiko wince, so she decided to stop toying with it. Before the creature even noticed that she had moved, she was behind it with Sora-Hime stretched to the sky. Moments later, it too dissipated, mask obliterated.
Sora-Hime slid soundlessly back into her sheath, and Yumiko took up her post overlooking the strange little town once more.
(OOC: that was really short and crappy...)
